Saturday brings a welcome break from the heat as temperatures drop across the Canary Islands. The most significant change will be felt in midlands and mountain peaks, although coastal areas still hold onto pleasant highs of 24–32°C.

General conditions

Cloud cover will increase through the day, especially in northern areas. Some light drizzle is possible in midland zones during the late afternoon and evening, but most of the archipelago stays dry with mostly clear skies elsewhere.

The trade winds will blow moderately to strongly from the northeast. Expect very strong gusts of 50–70 km/h during the first half of the day in the usual wind acceleration zones.

The Atlantic remains slightly choppy off southern coasts, with rough conditions elsewhere and waves of 1–2 metres.

Looking ahead
