The working week kicks off with a noticeable drop in wind speeds and more tolerable temperatures across the Canary Islands. While the north of the more mountainous islands will wake up under cloud cover, most of the archipelago is looking at a dry, sunny day ahead.
General conditions
Skies will be mostly cloudy along northern slopes, with the chance of light drizzle in the midlands overnight and early Monday morning. These clouds will break up by midday, revealing wide clear spells. The rest of the islands will see mostly clear or slightly cloudy conditions, except for the west coast of Fuerteventura and the north of Lanzarote, where cloud cover will be thicker at the start and end of the day.
Coastal highs will sit between 24ºC and 30ºC. The hottest spots could be the Güímar Valley in Tenerife and points in southeast Fuerteventura, where temperatures may just tip over the 30ºC mark. The trade winds are moderate, with stronger intervals in the southeast and northwest slopes, where occasional strong gusts are possible, especially early in the morning. A light southwest breeze will blow over the high peaks of La Palma and Tenerife. A light ocean breeze will dominate the sheltered southwest coasts.
Sea conditions are improving. The Atlantic will be rough in most areas, with waves dropping from 1.5 metres to 1 metre on northern exposed coasts. The southern shores will see a calm ocean with light ripples on the water.

Tenerife
Cloudy skies in the north with a chance of light drizzle in the northeast midlands early on. Clearing by midday. Otherwise, mostly clear. Moderate trade winds, stronger in the southeast and northwest. Light breeze on the southwest and northern coasts. The warmest temperatures will be in the Güímar Valley. Expect highs of 23ºC to 29ºC in the capital.
Gran Canaria
Cloudy in the north below 1,000 metres with possible early morning drizzle. Clearing at midday. The rest of the island will be mostly clear. Moderate trade winds, strongest in the southeast and northwest. Warmest spots in the west and southeast. The capital will see temperatures between 23ºC and 26ºC.
Lanzarote
Mostly clear except for cloud intervals in the north and west. Moderate trade winds, stronger inland and in the south. Temperatures in Arrecife will range from 21ºC to 28ºC.
Fuerteventura
Clear skies except for the west, where cloud intervals will be thicker at the start and end of the day. Moderate trade winds, stronger in the south of Jandía, easing by afternoon. Warmest temperatures in the southeast. Expect highs of 20ºC to 28ºC in the capital.
La Palma
Cloudy in the north and east, with a chance of some drizzle early on. Clearing by midday. Otherwise, mostly clear. Moderate trade winds, stronger on the southeast and northwest coasts. Maximum temperatures around 25ºC in the capital.
La Gomera
Clear skies except for the north, where it will be cloudy. A few drops possible in the northern midlands during the early hours. Moderate trade winds, stronger early in the morning. Temperatures in the capital will range between 23ºC and 27ºC.
El Hierro
Cloud intervals in the north. Otherwise, mostly clear or sunny. Moderate trade winds, stronger in the southeast and higher areas of the northwest. Summer-like temperatures.
La Graciosa
Cloud intervals, more compact in the morning. Moderate trade winds. Temperatures in Caleta de Sebo will range from 22ºC to 26ºC.
