A cloudy start to the week
Monday brings a generally cloudy and cool start to the week across the Canary Islands, with the northern slopes of the more mountainous islands seeing the most cloud cover. A few light, scattered showers are possible—most likely during the early morning and again overnight. In the central islands, local afternoon clouds could develop, with a slight chance of a stray drop falling inland or in the south during the afternoon. The eastern islands aren’t completely dry either, with weak and occasional showers possible, particularly in the north and on western-facing slopes.
General conditions
Temperatures will remain steady, with no major changes expected. Winds blow from the north across the western islands and Gran Canaria. Gusts could be strong on the eastern and western slopes of the mountainous islands, as well as in high-altitude and exposed areas of El Hierro. The westernmost islands will see a moderate northwest wind. A light ocean breeze will prevail along southern coasts of the mountainous islands.
At sea, the Atlantic will be mixed. Open waters exposed to the north, as well as the west coast of Fuerteventura and Lanzarote, will see waves that don’t exceed two metres. Elsewhere, conditions will be slightly choppy.

Tenerife
Variable cloud in the north, turning cloudy with a chance of weak and occasional rain during the morning and at night. Local clouds could develop in the south and southeast, with a slight chance of a stray drop. Wind from the north. Temperatures in the capital will range from 17ºC to 23ºC.
Gran Canaria
Cloudy in the northern half, with generally light and scattered showers—more likely in the afternoon. Variable cloud elsewhere. Local clouds may develop in the south during the afternoon. Moderate north wind. The capital should see a high of around 22ºC.
Lanzarote
Cloudy skies, except in the east where there will be variable cloud. Light and scattered showers possible in the north and west. Moderate northwest wind. Arrecife will reach a high of around 23ºC.
Fuerteventura
Variable cloud with a chance of light and occasional rain in the north and west. Moderate northwest wind. Maximum temperatures between 20ºC and 24ºC.
La Palma
Variable cloud, but cloudy in the north where light showers are likely, especially in the morning. Moderate north wind. The capital will see temperatures between 15ºC and 20ºC.
La Gomera
Cloudy in the north and inland areas, with a chance of drizzle during the morning. Variable cloud elsewhere. North wind. Coastal maximums between 18ºC and 24ºC.
El Hierro
Variable cloud, turning cloudy in the north and northeast. Moderate north wind, picking up in exposed high areas. Cool temperatures.
La Graciosa
Cloudy skies with a chance of drizzle. Moderate northwest wind. Temperatures in Caleta de Sebo will range from 17ºC to 22ºC.
