Warmer and drier across the Islands
The Canary Islands are heading into a warmer, drier spell. Humidity is dropping, and rain looks unlikely for several days. On Wednesday, low clouds hugging the coast at around 900 metres will gradually retreat, while a few scattered afternoon clouds may develop in the south — nothing significant. Long sunny spells are expected, especially in the higher areas.
Wind will ease throughout the day, blowing from a northerly direction at light to moderate speeds. Sea conditions remain rough, with areas of strong swells along northern coasts and channels between islands, where waves could reach two metres.
Island-by-island forecast
Tenerife
Cloud cover in the north during the morning will tend to clear, with some clouds forming in the south later. Plenty of sunny spells throughout. Temperatures on the rise.
Gran Canaria
Cloudy in the north, mostly clear elsewhere with a light layer of calima and a few isolated clouds in the south. Thermometers will range between 17°C and 23°C.
Lanzarote
More clouds on the western side, thinning as the day progresses. Temperatures in Arrecife between 17°C and 25°C.
Fuerteventura
Clouds at dawn will gradually pull away from the coast, leaving mostly clear skies tinged with light calima. Temperatures from 17°C to 26°C.
La Palma
Clouds will lower, hugging the north and east coasts in the morning before dispersing. Temperatures will remain fairly stable on this island.
La Gomera
More clouds in the north during the morning, with possible development in the south by afternoon. Wind easing, and temperatures climbing.
El Hierro
Fewer clouds overall – the most compact patches will appear in the morning, then become scattered with sunny spells breaking through. Wind will moderate, and temperatures will rise.
La Graciosa
Variable cloud cover throughout the day with light calima on the horizon. Wind easing, and maximum temperatures gaining a few degrees.
