Tenerife’s dining scene has a new addition. Guachinche El Bandido, a restaurant that has just opened its doors in La Laguna, is offering a creative gastronomic proposition designed to make every mouthful a pleasure. Content creators @guachinchesmodernos have paid the new establishment a visit and were quick to share their experience with followers. “We’re going to eat at a new restaurant that has just opened and has the name of a guachinche,” they commented.
A creative take on Canarian classics
The restaurant’s menu combines traditional recipes with more original preparations, a blend of flavours that leaves diners wanting more. During their visit, the foodie couple started with the ensalada bandido, an essential summer dish packed with fruit and perfect for whetting the appetite. They also enjoyed the octopus ropa vieja and the Ferrero-style Canarian black pudding sweets.
The culinary experience continued with meat and potatoes, a hearty dish best enjoyed with a little bread. One of the dishes that drew most attention, however, was the so-called solomillo Bandido. This substantial creation combines a range of ingredients, including prawns, meat, egg, caramelised apple and chips, in a flavour combination that has already become one of the establishment’s signature plates.
A sweet finish
To round things off, the couple finished their visit with a grandmother-style cake made with María biscuits. They also sampled a white chocolate and passion fruit soup, a dessert that was not even on the menu. Guachinche El Bandido is located on Camino del Medio, Los Baldíos (La Laguna) and has already joined the island’s gastronomic offer with a proposal that seeks to win over the palates of all who visit. It opens Monday to Thursday from 12:30 to 17:00 and from 20:00 to 23:00, while Friday, Saturday and Sunday it offers continuous service from 12:30 to 23:30.
