One hotel, two very different holiday worlds
It is almost a year since the Hotel Gran Tagoro in Playa Blanca, Lanzarote, unveiled a transformation that went far beyond a simple refurbishment of bedrooms. Dreamplace Hotels & Resorts redefined the very concept of the family holiday product by dividing the property into two distinct universes, each with its own personality: Zona Castillo and Zona Real Adventure – two worlds that coexist without compromising their individual identities.
The premise was simple to state but complex to deliver: not all guests want the same thing from their holiday, and that applies even within a single family. The hotel is therefore organised into two clearly separated zones, allowing every type of visitor to find the pace, the spaces and the services that best match their expectations.
Zona Castillo: the calm heart of the hotel
Zona Castillo has established itself as the tranquil side of the hotel, with an offer that caters to a range of budgets. Deluxe rooms now come with full access to this zone – including the buffet restaurant, pools, entertainment programme and mini-club – ideal for those who want a more affordable option without sacrificing a peaceful atmosphere. One step up, the Gold Level rooms add a more exclusive layer of service: a reserved pool and beach bar, a dedicated buffet restaurant with live cooking and a premium drinks menu.
Both categories share the rest of the offering: two à la carte restaurants – one serving Asian cuisine, the other Italian – plus the Vitanova Spa & Wellness Center and the gym, all designed for unhurried enjoyment of the surroundings.
Real Adventure: where imagination takes over
At the other end of the hotel, but perfectly connected to it, Zona Real Adventure has absorbed much of the conceptual work of the past year. Here, entertainment is no longer confined to a schedule – it becomes the guiding thread of the entire space. Four themed worlds – pirate, medieval, sports and space – create a narrative universe of its own, led by characters Tagorín and Aurora, designed so that every child feels part of the story.
The Plaza del Pueblo, with its large-scale playground, sits alongside the Piscina Dragón (Dragon Pool), the new Splash Park, the family pool and multi-sports courts, creating an environment where fun is woven into every corner of the zone. The rooms – including one fully themed – and the all-inclusive board basis reinforce that sense of immersion.
Two zones designed to complement each other
The two areas are designed to work in tandem. Guests staying in Real Adventure also enjoy much of the Zona Castillo facilities, while those based in the latter can access Real Adventure through a full-day day pass, with all-inclusive cover during that period and the nightly show with which the family zone closes each day. In this way, every guest decides when they want to join the livelier rhythm of the hotel.
This model responds to an increasingly decisive trend in the sector: guests no longer value only the quality of the facilities, but the coherence of the concept and its ability to adapt to different stages of life – and to different budgets – within a single trip.
