Sunday brings a quieter end to the week across the Islands, with fewer clouds and a pleasant feel overall. While localised afternoon build-ups may form over the south of Tenerife and La Palma, they are expected to remain dry. Elsewhere, it’s mostly clear skies and plenty of sunshine.
General conditions
Temperatures will dip slightly in the eastern islands, with coastal highs ranging between 22°C and 29°C. Winds are light to moderate from the north-northeast, picking up a bit over the southeast of Gran Canaria in the afternoon. At higher elevations, a light to moderate northwesterly breeze is expected, shifting to westerly on El Teide. The ocean is largely calm, with slightly choppy conditions near southern shores, rougher waters further out, and a northwest ocean swell of around 1 to 1.5 metres.
Island by island
Tenerife
Fewer clouds than in previous days. The most compact cloud cover will form around midday over the mid-levels of the southeast, south, and southwest. Coastal areas on other sides of the island can expect long hours of sunshine. Pleasant temperatures with a northerly wind, turning westerly on El Teide.
Gran Canaria
A mix of morning cloud cover and long sunny spells, with some good weather intervals in the south and southwest. Temperatures will drop slightly. Moderate trade winds, stronger along the southeast slope in the afternoon.
Lanzarote
Cloudy intervals, most persistent in the north during the early and late hours. Temperatures slightly lower than Saturday. Light to moderate northeast wind.
Fuerteventura
Cloudy intervals dominate. Temperatures will drop by a couple of degrees, with coastal highs between 24°C and 28°C. Light to moderate northeast wind.
La Palma
Cloudy intervals, becoming more abundant from midday over the mid-levels in the south. Temperatures remain steady. Light northeast wind.
La Gomera
A mix of cloud and clear spells, with some local afternoon clouds forming in the mid-levels. Coastal highs between 23°C and 27°C. Light to moderate northerly wind.
El Hierro
More compact cloud cover over inland areas during midday, with more sunshine along the coast. Pleasant temperatures. Light to moderate northeast wind.
La Graciosa
A mixture of cloud and clear spells, with plenty of sunshine throughout the day. Temperatures barely change, with a high of 25°C. Northeast wind at 15–25 km/h.
