Stable weather to see out the spring
The last weekend of astronomical spring brings settled conditions across the Canary Islands. Saturday will see some high clouds drift in, particularly over the more mountainous islands, but they’ll pass without bringing any rainfall. Humidity will gradually drop, and the low clouds that have been lingering in northern municipalities will also clear.
Sunday is looking even better: skies will be much bluer, and temperatures will edge up a degree or two — though nothing like the heat building across mainland Spain. Winds will ease compared to recent days, blowing light to moderate from the north. Overnight lows won’t change much.
The Atlantic will be mostly calm: expect slightly choppy conditions off southern coasts and a gentle swell in the north, with waves staying under one metre across the board.
Island by island
Tenerife
Expect fewer clouds overall, with some high cloud cover that won’t bring any rain. Santa Cruz will see temperatures between 20°C and 27°C, with very little wind.
Gran Canaria
A few gusts possible in exposed areas. Low clouds in the north will be scarce, while the rest of the island will see some high cloud. Las Palmas will reach a maximum of 23°C.
Lanzarote
Cloud cover will thin out. A few low clouds may linger over the north and west early on, but the rest of the island will enjoy sunshine. Arrecife: between 20°C and 26°C.
Fuerteventura
Nearly clear skies from midday Saturday and through Sunday, both in the north and south. Temperatures will range from 20°C to 26°C.
La Palma
Some high clouds will pass without consequence, and low clouds may appear in the north and eastern slopes early and late in the day. The capital: between 19°C and 23°C.
La Gomera
Cloudy intervals possible over the north in the morning. Otherwise, mostly clear or with high cloud. Almost no wind to speak of, and temperatures similar to the previous day.
El Hierro
Valverde will see temperatures between 15°C and 19°C, rising slightly on Sunday. Mostly high cloud cover in the capital tomorrow.
La Graciosa
Less cloud overall. The morning may start grey, but it will tend to clear up. No wind expected, slightly warmer temperatures, and calm ocean conditions.
