canary islands weather saturday 13 june

Saturday: stable start, clouds clear later

It’s a quiet weekend across the Canary Islands. No big changes, no dramatic shifts – just the kind of stable, pleasant June weather that reminds us why we live here. Low clouds will hang around the northern coasts of the bigger islands through the morning, but they’ll burn off nicely by midday or early afternoon. The south and the high peaks stay mostly clear all day.

Winds are light to moderate from the north. On the higher summits, expect a southwesterly breeze that will ease on Sunday as the trade winds return. The Atlantic remains calm: slightly choppy on northern coasts with waves around a metre, and gentle ripples on southern shores.

Temperatures won’t move much – if anything, they’ll drop a degree or two. Cool mornings, pleasant afternoons. No calima, no surprises.

Island by island

Tenerife

Low clouds over the north and southwest coast will thin out as the day goes on. Light winds everywhere except the summit, where a moderate westerly breeze will blow. Temperatures unchanged.

Gran Canaria

The famous “panza de burro” (low cloud blanket) will shrink during the morning. The rest of the island stays clear. It won’t be as hot as recent days, and the wind will pick up slightly along the coastlines in the afternoon.

Lanzarote

Low clouds in the north and west during the early hours, retreating inland from midday onwards. Little wind. Temperatures between 18°C and 26°C.

Fuerteventura

Clouds over the northern and western half, leaving the eastern side clear. Northerly winds. Similar temperatures to recent days.

La Palma

Clouds in the north and east, barely reaching the coast as the day progresses. Winds ease off except on the summits. Temperatures similar to yesterday.

La Gomera

Scattered clouds in the north early on, clearing through the morning. San Sebastián will see 19°C to 25°C.

El Hierro

Low clouds over the north-northeast, shrinking after midday. Barely any wind. Valverde: 13°C to 19°C.

La Graciosa

More clouds in the morning than in the afternoon. Light to moderate winds. Temperatures steady.

Looking ahead

Sunday will see the return of the trade winds. The cloud layer will lift slightly, but otherwise expect more of the same stable, pleasant conditions. A perfect weekend to enjoy the outdoors, the beaches, or a mountain walk.
