Weather Costa Calma today: Patchy rain nearby, 21°C
Rain is almost certain on this normally dry, sheltered south-east corner of Fuerteventura – a rare sight for Costa Calma. Storm Therese is pushing heavy showers across the island, particularly through the morning and early afternoon, with around 3 mm of moderate rainfall expected. The Atlantic at Costa Calma y Sotavento de Jandía stays calm throughout the day, and the water is refreshing at 18°C – swimming is technically safe, but the beach will feel uninviting under grey skies. Wind sits at 32 km/h, a light breeze that adds little drama on its own but makes standing in the rain decidedly unpleasant. Despite the cloud cover, UV reaches 6 – SPF 30+ is still a must if the sun breaks through. A good day to linger over a long lunch at a seafront restaurant and sample some Canarian papas arrugadas with mojo.
Weather Costa Calma tomorrow: Patchy rain nearby, 20°C
Tuesday offers little relief – rain remains almost certain, with up to 5 mm of moderate rainfall possible and temperatures dipping slightly to 20°C. The ocean turns more unsettled, so approach the water with caution. Wind eases to 26 km/h, which is at least a small comfort.
Weather Costa Calma Wednesday: Patchy rain nearby, 22°C
If forecasts hold, Wednesday may bring a subtle improvement – temperatures could climb back to 22°C and rainfall is expected to ease to a passing drizzle, with calm ocean conditions returning to the Sotavento coast.
