General Outlook
Tuesday brings clear skies and a widespread influx of Saharan dust. The calima will be most noticeable in the eastern islands and Tenerife this morning, spreading to the western islands during the afternoon. Temperatures are climbing, with the rise most pronounced in the east and on Tenerife.
A moderate to strong northeasterly wind overnight will shift to a moderate easterly during the morning. Very strong gusts are likely on the western slopes of Fuerteventura and Lanzarote, the northern mid-altitude areas and peaks of Tenerife’s dorsal ridge, and in El Golfo valley on El Hierro. Strong gusts cannot be ruled out in the southern extremes of the more mountainous islands.
At sea, a north-northeasterly ocean swell will predominate. Waves on north-facing coasts and the west coasts of Fuerteventura, Lanzarote, La Gomera, El Hierro, and La Palma will not exceed 2.5 metres. Southern, more sheltered coasts will see areas of rough ocean.

Tenerife
Scattered morning clouds in the north, otherwise clear. Calima will increase through the day. A moderate easterly and southeasterly wind will blow across mid-altitude and highland areas, with very strong gusts likely on north-facing mid-altitude slopes. The maximum temperature in Santa Cruz will be around 24°C.
Gran Canaria
Clear skies with widespread calima. A moderate easterly and southeasterly wind in mid-altitude and highland areas. Strong gusts are possible in the north and south. Temperatures in the capital will range from 17°C to 23°C.
Lanzarote
Clear with calima, more intense in the south. A moderate easterly wind, with strong gusts possible in the west and interior. Temperatures in Arrecife will range from 16°C to 24°C.
Fuerteventura
Calima will be most intense over the Jandía Peninsula. A moderate easterly wind with probable strong gusts in the west. Temperatures are rising.
La Palma
Clear skies except for scattered morning clouds in the north and northeast. A moderate easterly and southeasterly wind in mid-altitude and highland areas, with probable strong gusts in the north. Calima will intensify during the afternoon.
La Gomera
Scattered clouds in the north, tending to clear. Elsewhere, sunny with widespread calima. An easterly wind and warmer temperatures.
El Hierro
Scattered morning clouds in the extreme northeast. Calima increasing by midday. A moderate easterly wind and rising temperatures.
La Graciosa
Calima throughout the day, decreasing at night. A moderate easterly wind. Temperatures in Caleta de Sebo will range from 17°C to 23°C.
