Roads to Teide National Park Reopen After Ice Clearance

Roads to Teide National Park reopen

The Cabildo de Tenerife has reopened the road access routes to Teide National Park after confirming an improvement in road conditions and completing inspection work carried out this morning. Specifically, the TF-24 and TF-21 roads are now open to traffic again, after the island’s road maintenance services verified that travel can proceed normally and safely.

Precautionary closure due to ice

Both routes had been closed as a precaution due to the presence of ice sheets on various stretches. This situation necessitated access restrictions to guarantee the safety of both drivers and intervention teams. Once the inspection and road conditioning work was concluded, the Cabildo restored circulation on both access roads to the national park.

Drivers urged to check conditions

The island’s authorities remind the public of the importance of checking the updated status of the roads and the weather forecast before travelling to summit areas. They also advise exercising extreme caution in case of possible changes in weather conditions.
