From the outside, it looks like an ordinary house in a neighbourhood on the island of Tenerife, more specifically in Los Majuelos, San Cristóbal de La Laguna. However, “when you walk past, you can’t possibly imagine what you’ll find inside.” Tasca La Reciclada is a restaurant packed with history within its walls.
A treasure trove of recycled antiques
The content creators @guachinchesmodernos recently visited the establishment and were quick to share the experience with their followers. “People have been recommending this place to us for a long time. From the outside, you’d never imagine the place is like this; it has hundreds of recycled items.” The establishment “is celebrating 19 years” and inside “there are hundreds and hundreds of very old articles. People have been recommending it for years,” they confirm.
In fact, they were amazed by the quantity of items, with the owner explaining that one piece is a bandoneon or accordion that could be 150 years old.
Traditional Canarian cuisine at affordable prices
Its gastronomic proposition is a commitment to traditional Canarian cooking at economical prices. Among the house specialities, the sweet potato salad stands out, which they ordered on the direct recommendation of the restaurant. “The gentleman told us it is the house speciality,” they state in the video. They also tried the stew, which they rated as “top tier,” and “la planchita,” which comes with various meats such as Iberian secreto, bichillo, and lágrimas. They enjoyed all the food accompanied by wine.
As a final touch, they sampled the homemade coffee cake, joking that “Jonay fancied it, so he’ll be the one to eat it.”

On Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, it operates split hours: from 1:00 pm to 4:30 pm and from 8:00 pm to 11:30 pm, closing at 11:00 pm on Thursdays.
