La Esperanza: A Hiker’s Paradise Beyond the Beach

The La Esperanza region is once again establishing itself as one of the favourite corners for hikers.

The so-called La Esperanza Circular Route has become a perfect plan for an accessible, nature-filled walk. Starting from the mountain road, it advances along the southeastern slope of the forest until reaching the Las Raíces recreational area. From there, the path returns to the starting point, offering spectacular views towards the coast and the Anaga mountains.
Another excellent option begins at the Lomo de Jara rest area. This section features small, well-maintained paths and routes that pass by caves, old houses, and a small chapel. It is a simple and versatile walk, perfect for those seeking a tranquil plan.
