New series from Los Javis’ production company heads to Lanzarote
The production company behind Los Javis, Suma Content, is taking part in a project with Atresmedia and Buendía Estudios Canarias to film a series called Crimen en España. Shooting has already begun in Barcelona, but it will soon move to the Canary Islands, where the search is already under way for extras to appear in the scenes.
A thriller led by Macarena García and Belén Barenys
According to atresplayer, Crimen en España is an original fiction series starring the actresses Macarena García (La Mesías, Se tiene que morir mucha gente, Casa en llamas, La Llamada) and Belén Barenys (Autodefensa). The pair play a journalist and a young woman haunted by her own demons. Both will experience from the inside the relationship between Spain and the media’s coverage of violence.
The series will run to five episodes and filming is already under way in Barcelona, though it will continue in Lanzarote. Its central thread combines thriller with a fantastical setting, psychological horror, metaphor and dreamlike imagery.
A cast packed with familiar names
The series’ cast is completed by well-known names from Spanish fiction, including Ana Torrent, Julián Villagrán, Mónica Cruz, Adelfa Calvo, Milo Quifes, Jedet, Daniel Ibáñez and Itsaso Arana, among others.
Crimen en España is a Buendía Estudios Canarias production with the collaboration of Suma Content (the production company of Javier Ambrossi and Javier Calvo) and the participation of Atresmedia. The series is directed by Claudia Costafreda and created by María Bastarós.
Extras sought in Lanzarote for 7 and 8 October
The production companies are already looking for extras for the shoot in the Canary Islands, specifically in Lanzarote, where the series will be filmed on 7 and 8 October. If selected, pay ranges from 62 to 72 euros, although there may be special extra roles with higher fees.
The profiles required are young people aged 16 to 23 for scenes set in a juvenile centre, so they are looking for an urban street style and people with a streetwise look. They are also seeking young men and women with an Andalusian accent, over 18, with a heavy/metal aesthetic, preferably with long or shoulder-length hair and an authentic style. No previous experience is necessary. To sign up, the production company has provided an online form.
