A hot and dusty Tuesday is on the cards across the Canary Islands, with calima settling over the archipelago and temperatures climbing well into the thirties in the eastern islands.
General conditions
Skies will be dominated by medium and high cloud over the eastern islands and Tenerife, where an isolated storm cannot be ruled out – chiefly in Fuerteventura and Lanzarote, and also over the peaks of Tenerife. The western islands will see patches of low cloud in northern coastal areas, with mostly clear skies and some high cloud elsewhere.
Calima will be present across the region, most noticeably in the eastern islands. Temperatures are rising, particularly the overnight lows, especially inland.

Lanzarote
Cloudy with intervals of medium and high cloud and a low chance of an isolated storm. Calima. Moderate trade winds, with the odd strong gust from a variable direction. Local highs of 34ºC are possible in the south, while the maximum in Arrecife will hover around 31ºC.
Fuerteventura
Cloudy with intervals of medium and high cloud, and the odd drop of rain cannot be ruled out alongside an isolated storm. Calima. Moderate trade winds, with temperatures reaching 34ºC in the interior and south. In Puerto del Rosario, expect 24ºC to 31ºC.
La Palma
Cloudy intervals in low-lying areas of the north and east, with intervals of high cloud on other slopes. Light calima at altitude and light to moderate trade winds, turning moderate from the south-southwest over the summits. Maximum of 27ºC in Santa Cruz de La Palma.
La Gomera
Cloudy intervals in low-lying northern areas, with intervals of high cloud elsewhere. Calima, more significant in the medianías and over the summits. Light to moderate northeast winds, picking up speed. The south could exceed 30ºC, while San Sebastián de La Gomera will range between 23ºC and 30ºC.
El Hierro
Low cloud in the northeast and intervals of high cloud elsewhere. Light calima at altitude. Light to moderate north-northeast winds. Up to 30ºC possible in the south.
La Graciosa
Medium and high cloud, with an isolated storm not ruled out. Calima. Moderate trade winds. Temperatures in Caleta de Sebo will range between 23ºC and 28ºC.
