The heat is not done with the Canary Islands just yet. Friday brings another hot, sticky day across the archipelago, with thunderstorms forming near several islands and calima still hanging in the air.
The cooldown everyone is waiting for begins today, but it will be so slight that few will notice. The real relief arrives later in the weekend.
General conditions
Friday looks unsettled once again. Storms are expected to develop around the islands, with nearby lightning and the chance of heavy, isolated raindrops on La Palma, El Hierro and Tenerife.

Plenty of mid and high cloud, with muggy conditions by day and by night. In Las Palmas, values range from 24°C to 30°C, while the south could climb past 36°C once again.
Lanzarote
Mid and high cloud cover the whole island as temperatures edge down. Arrecife sees 25°C minimum and 30°C maximum, with little wind through the day.
Fuerteventura
A touch cooler, though Puerto del Rosario still moves between 23°C and 29°C, and municipalities such as Pájara push past 34°C. Abundant high cloud overhead.
La Palma
Storms could return, leaving occasional heavy raindrops and isolated gusts of wind. Grey skies dominate, with temperatures between 24°C and 32°C in the capital.
La Gomera
Values range from 25°C to 32°C in the capital. High cloud lingers all day, and by late afternoon gusts pick up on the southern headlands.
El Hierro
Plenty of mid and high cloud, with possible nearby storms and even a few heavy raindrops. Temperatures in Valverde sit between 23°C and 30°C.
