Unsettled Start to Sunday Across the Islands
This Sunday begins with cloudy intervals across the north and west of Tenerife, where there is a chance of occasional light rain, particularly in mid-altitude areas. In contrast, the rest of the island will see mostly clear or partly cloudy skies. This is according to the forecast from the State Meteorological Agency (AEMET), which also indicates a day marked by a moderate northeasterly wind, with strong intervals on the southeastern slope and in the far west of the island, where occasionally very strong gusts cannot be ruled out throughout the day.
Temperatures will barely change, remaining similar to recent days. In Santa Cruz de Tenerife, thermometers will range between a low of 15°C and a high of 19°C, while weak frosts are possible in the central peaks during the early hours. On the southwestern coasts, breezes are expected to predominate, softening the wind in these areas.
Island-by-Island Forecast
The weather will be similar across the rest of the Canaries, with cloudiness on northern slopes, a chance of light rain in mid-altitude zones, and a moderate to strong northeasterly wind.
Gran Canaria
The north will remain cloudy with probable light precipitation in mid-altitude areas, while the rest of the island will see mostly clear skies. Temperatures will hardly change and the wind will blow with strong intervals on the northwestern and southeastern slopes. Las Palmas de Gran Canaria can expect a low of 16°C and a high of 19°C.
Lanzarote and Fuerteventura
Cloudy skies with wide clear spells are expected during the day, with the possibility of weak, scattered precipitation during the night. Temperatures will remain stable, ranging from 14°C to 20°C in Arrecife and 15°C to 20°C in Puerto del Rosario.
La Palma
Cloudiness will predominate in the north and east, where occasional light rain could be recorded, especially in mid-altitude areas, while the rest of the island will experience mostly clear skies. Santa Cruz de La Palma is forecast to see a low of 14°C and a high of 19°C.
La Gomera
The north will be cloudy with a low probability of light rain, while the rest of the island will have clearer skies. San Sebastián de La Gomera can expect temperatures between 16°C and 20°C.
El Hierro
The northeast will see cloud cover with a low probability of weak precipitation, mainly in mid-altitude areas during the night. In Valverde, thermometers will mark a low of 10°C and a high of 13°C.
Maritime Conditions
At sea, a northeasterly wind of force 4 to 6 will predominate, with a rough or very rough sea across much of the archipelago. On the west coast of the islands, the wind will be variable at force 1 to 3, with a rippled sea. Furthermore, a northwesterly swell of between one and two metres is expected, which will shift to a northeasterly direction throughout the day.
