Unsettled conditions with wind and rain
A low-pressure area near the eastern islands will influence the weather across the Canary Islands on Thursday, 9 April. The main features are strengthening winds, a rough Atlantic, and the chance of rain, particularly on northern and western slopes. Southern coasts will see calmer conditions.
General outlook: wind, waves, and localised rain
Winds will be the dominant feature, with strong gusts potentially exceeding 80 km/h in exposed areas, on mountain peaks, and in metropolitan zones. Temperatures remain stable, with a slight rise in daytime highs possible.
The Atlantic will become rough, with an ocean swell from the open Atlantic generating waves of 4-5 metres on northern coasts of all islands. The western and northern coasts of the eastern islands and the channel between La Gomera and Tenerife will be most affected. Southern coasts will be calmer.
