Stable weather returns
After the recent storm, much more settled conditions are expected across the Canary Islands this Friday, 27 March. Southern areas will see plenty of sunshine, while northern slopes can expect local cloud cover. Temperatures remain stable, typical for late March.
General outlook
A moderate northeasterly wind will affect the western islands, with a northerly component for the eastern islands. Temperatures will see little change, with perhaps a slight drop in overnight lows. The Atlantic will be rough on northern coasts, with waves over 2 metres. Southern coasts will see slightly choppy ocean conditions with some rough patches.
Island-by-island forecast
Tenerife
Scattered clouds are expected in the north and, due to local afternoon development, in the south. The peaks will be clear. A moderate wind will blow, and temperatures will hardly vary.
Gran Canaria
The famous ‘panza de burro’ cloud layer will return to the northern half of the island, thinning as the day goes on. Sunshine is expected in the south and on the peaks. Moderate trade winds.
Lanzarote
Low clouds with high humidity are forecast for the north and west, starting to clear from the south and east around midday. A moderate wind will blow.
Fuerteventura
The day will dawn with clouds that will quickly reduce, giving way to sunshine in the eastern half and the south. A northerly wind will blow, and temperatures will change little.
La Palma
A day of variable cloud cover, more overcast in the north and eastern slopes. The summit will be clear, and the trade winds will be felt at the extremes. Temperatures remain cool.
La Gomera
Expect a sunny atmosphere in the southern half and the interior during the afternoon, with clouds lingering only in the north. Temperatures in San Sebastián will range from 16 to 21°C.
El Hierro
Scattered clouds are expected in the north, especially in the morning and into the afternoon. Sunny spells are forecast, particularly in the south. Maximum temperatures in Valverde will be around 16°C.
La Graciosa
Friday will bring intervals of clouds, which will lose consistency during the afternoon. Temperatures won’t change much, and a moderate wind will blow.
