Playa de las Vistas — the best family beach in Los Cristianos

Playa de las Vistas is the largest and most family-friendly beach in Los Cristianos. 850 metres of golden sand, water sheltered by breakwaters and a promenade lined with restaurants — this is a beach where you can spend the entire day without needing to leave. A Blue Flag guarantees clean water and solid facilities.

Where is Playa de las Vistas and how to get there?

The beach is in Los Cristianos, on Tenerife’s southern coast, in the municipality of Arona. It stretches from the Los Cristianos ferry port (connections to La Gomera) all the way to the border with Playa de las Américas.

By car: Underground parking at Centro Comercial San Telmo or street parking along Avenida de Chayofita. In high season (December–March) finding a spot can be tricky.

By bus: TITSA routes to Los Cristianos — line 111 from the southern airport, line 110 from Costa Adeje. Stop at Estación de Guaguas Los Cristianos, then a 5–8 minute walk.

Beach characteristics

Playa de las Vistas is roughly 850 metres long — one of the longest beaches on the south coast. The sand is golden, imported. The water is very calm — breakwaters effectively dampen the swell, making it one of the safest beaches for children on Tenerife. Lifeguards are on duty year-round. The beach holds a Blue Flag.

An added bonus is the free bathing assistance service for people with reduced mobility — an assistant accompanies you into the water, and an amphibious wheelchair is available. The service runs daily from 11:00.

Facilities

  • Sunbeds and parasols for hire — around €6–8 each
  • Showers, toilets, changing rooms
  • Chiringuitos and beach bars — several right on the beach
  • Promenade — restaurants, shops and ice cream parlours along the entire length
  • Full accessibility — ramps, amphibious wheelchair, bathing assistant

Good to know

Right next to the beach is the Los Cristianos ferry port — ferries depart from here to La Gomera (about 50 minutes). You can combine a beach day with a day trip to the neighbouring island.

The promenade along Playa de las Vistas continues all the way to Playa de las Américas — perfect for an evening stroll at sunset. Numerous chiringuitos along the way serve tapas and local wines.

The beach is very popular — during peak season (December–March, July–August) it gets crowded. Arrive before 10:00 to grab a good spot near the water.
