Playa de las Americas — water sports, nightlife, and beaches in south Tenerife

Playa de las Americas is the party capital of south Tenerife. This is not a beach for peace and quiet — this is a place where you can surf in the morning, ride a jet ski at noon, and hit the bars along the promenade by evening. If you are looking for a beach with action, water sports, and a buzzing atmosphere — this is your spot.

Where is Playa de las Americas and how to get there?

Playa de las Americas lies on the southern coast of Tenerife, in the municipality of Arona, between Los Cristianos and Costa Adeje. It is the largest tourist resort on the island.

By car: Paid street parking and underground car parks in the shopping centres. From Tenerife South Airport (TFS) — about 15 minutes via the TF-1 motorway.

By bus: Las Americas is the main bus hub of the south. TITSA bus lines 111 (express from Santa Cruz), 110 (from the airport), 473 (local). The central stop is right on the promenade.
